Technology Transfer Engineer (1 position available)
SUMMARY:
Develops and optimizes coating processes at the customer site. Oversees the transfer of deposition systems and process technology from the Company’s headquarters into field installations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs process development activities on systems installed at customer/coater sites.
Develops processes and optimizes conditions to deposit InnerArmorTM coatings.
Responsible for the set-up, calibration, running and monitoring of the Company’s proprietary plasma CVD machines.
Applies general knowledge of system and process operation theory to develop new processes and address operational issues.
Provides applications support to customers including installations, troubleshooting and maintenance of products/equipment.
Demonstrates machines to customers.
Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customer’s needs. Assists customer with solving problems related to the application of the product.
Performs process development activities and field demonstrations on systems installed at customer sites.
Develops and maintains good customer relationships. Represents the customer’s interest at technical meetings within the Company.
Evaluate engineering upgrades and other product proposals submitted by
Engineering to determine practicality and usefulness of the application by customers.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in Chemical/Electrical or Material Science required. Advanced degree preferred.
Electro-mechanical systems and/or process chemistry background.
Minimum five years applicable technical experience.
Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Travel of up to 50% or more required including extended stay at customer locations.
Travel may be international, and may be for up to two weeks or more at a time.
Must be open to relocation.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Onsite training at corporate headquarters for up to 1-2 months.
